INSTANT HOT WATER DISPENSERS
Put the heat on…fast.

The longer water sits in the pipes between the water heater and the faucet, the cooler it gets. This is especially a problem in ranch homes, where there’s a longer distance between the water heater and a faucet clear across the house.

Hot water dispensers remedy this problem through two different methods:

  • Hot water tank dispensers are connected directly into the water supply and basically serve as miniwater heaters under the sink or over the counter and fixed to a wall.
  • Hot water recirculating pumps are the second method. They maintain a continuous flow of hot water at the faucet and circulate colder water back to the water heater.

Both methods ensure hot water is always available, saving cold water that runs down the drain as you wait for warm or hot water to reach the faucet. The downside: they do use a small amount of electricity to power. It’s the give and take between the comfort and water savings of instant hot water and energy usage.
