Carbon monoxide is a silent, odorless, tasteless gas that kills in quick order. In small doses, it can cause headaches, vertigo and flu-like effects. In larger doses, it can cause death.
Carbon monoxide can seep naturally into your home through your slab or basement, or unnaturally fill your home if air conditioning and heating appliances aren’t properly maintained, repaired or installed.
Every home should be installed with at least one or a series of carbon monoxide detectors, no different than smoke detectors.
Al’s can install system-wide carbon monoxide detectors, check appliance connections and make repairs if necessary to prevent carbon monoxide or stop it in its tracks.
If you think carbon monoxide is seeping into your home, get out. If you or a family member is suffering any ill effects, call 911. Then it’s vital to call Al’s or another licensed professional to inspect, repair and prevent any future possibilities of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Al’s Tip: Never use a generator, gasoline or charcoal-burning device inside your home or garage. Don’t use gas ranges or ovens to heat your home. And never run a car in an enclosed space, even an open garage.
